Finals are over, and freedom has begun! But things never go exactly as planned... Last Monday morning (the day finals began) Clayton woke up with a swollen knee. He injured his knee about a year ago and it acts up now and then so we did not think much of it other than it was more red than usual. Well, Tuesday morning comes around and his knee has doubled in size and is even more red! On top of that, Clayton is feeling very sick and ready to pass out all day. When Wednesday morning rolled around Clayton was not feeling any better so we finally took him to the doctor.
Long story short, he saw three doctors in three days and they not only gave him the largest shot in his life but they also had to change his meds. Cause of illness: infection (bursitis). We ended with a specialist on Friday who slapped a medicated patch on his knee, wrapped Clayton's leg, and then stuck him in a leg brace. (I had fun watching Clayton then try to maneuver into the car so we could go home...) The good news is that when we went back today the doctor told Clayton that he does not need surgery and the infection appears to be going away. The other good news was they did not have to stick a needle in Clayton's knee (even though the nurse had everything out and ready to do the deed).
Thankfully, the worst is over and I get to put my doctor skills to work and keep taking care of Clayton :) Hopefully, he will be back on his feet sooner than later!
